ABSTRACT

This essay outlines Postconventional Management: Towards Autotelic Heterarchical Models, an Ethical Vision in the Era of Artificial Intelligence. Currently, organizational complexity driven by digital transformation demands a transition from traditional models toward more flexible structures. This paper aims to analyze Postconventional Management as an ethical and strategic response in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The core argument maintains that adopting heterarchical models and autotelic principles overcomes hierarchical rigidity, ensuring decentralized, fair, and transparent decision-making in the face of technological challenges. The research is grounded in Stafford Beer’s organizational cybernetics, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s concepts of flow and intrinsic motivation, and the ethical perspectives on AI by Ashok et al. (2022). Following a qualitative methodology based on an exhaustive literature review and documentary analysis, the study concludes that Postconventional Management represents a necessary evolution in contemporary administration, where adaptability and morality become competitive advantages. The primary contribution of this essay is a proposed framework that humanizes technology, fostering environments where AI enhances human capabilities rather than replacing them, allowing organizations to thrive with social responsibility in the digital era.
